Disease Of Osteoarthritis

Disease of Osteoarthritis is a disease of the joints characterized by the presence of chronical abnormalities in cartilage (cartilage) bone and joints nearby. Cartilage (cartilage) is a layer that sits at the tip of the bone. If it is stricken with Parkinson's or the joints thus abnormalities occurred may experience barriers to moving. If it is severe, then the bones can rub against each other. This is what causes the stiffness, pain, taste and a restriction on the movement of the joints.
Osteoarthritis is a disease currently affecting about eight million people in the United Kingdom, and about 27 million people in the United States, about 25% of visits to primary care physicians, and half of all prescription NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). It is estimated that 80% of the U.S. population will have proof of radiography Osteoarthritis at age 65, although only 60% of those who showed symptoms.

Osteoarthritis is a disease attacking who?
imageOsteoartritis usually occurs in people over the age of 45 years. A male aged under 55 years more often suffer from the disease compared to women at the same age. After 55 years of age usually suffer osteoarthritis more often women than men. Overall, women are more likely to suffer from osteoarthritis when compared with men. It is thought to be due to the shape of the woman's hips width can cause pressure that chronically on the knee joint. Osteoarthritis is also commonly found in people who are overweight and those who work have resulted in excessive pressure on the joints of the body.
What Causes Osteoarthritis?
Osteoartitis usually begins from abnormalities in cells that form cartilage components such as collagen (the protein fibers that are strong on connective tissue), and proteoglycans (ingredients that form the power of restitution on the cartilage). A result of abnormalities in the cells, end the cartilage thins and form cracks-cracks on the surface of the joint. Small cavities are formed in the bone marrow of the bone under the cartilage, so the corresponding bone becomes brittle. Our bodies will attempt to repair such damage. But the improvements undertaken by the body may not be adequate, resulting in the emergence of the bumps on the edges of the joints (osteophytes) that feels pain.
In the end the cartilage surface will turn out to be rude and with wholes are so that the joints are no longer able to move subtly. All components of the joints (bone, joint capsule, synovial tissue, tendons, and cartilage) experienced a failure occurs and the stiffness of the joints.
The exact cause of the occurrence of all these disorders are still not yet known for sure. But there are some risk factors that allow a person to suffer from osteoarthritis, namely:

Age. The possibility of a person with osteoarthritis grew along with the increasing age of the person.
Weight. The higher the weight of a person, the more likely a person to suffer from osteoarthritis. This is because along with the increase of the weight of a person, a burdens accepted by the greater the body joints.
Trauma to the joints or joint use is excessive.
Job. People whose work is connected with activities which require the repetition of movement continuously, such as athletes, operator of the machine, have a high risk for suffering from osteoarthritis.
Weakness in the muscles. Weakness in the muscles around the joints can cause the onset of osteoarthritis.
Other diseases. There are several diseases that can disrupt normal function and structure of the cartilage like rheumatoid arthritis arthritis, gout, hemokromatosis, akromegali, and so on.

What Are The Symptoms Of Osteoatritis?
Symptoms in osteoarthritis occurs gradually. Originally an abnormality in the form of pain and stiffness in the joints. Joints of the fingers, thumb, back, neck down, big toes, hips and knees are the most commonly affected by osteoarthritis. Pain may be mild, moderate, or severe and can interfere with daily activities. If the disease continues then the longer the joints will be more difficult to set in motion and ultimately discontinued on the position of unhinged.
The growth of new cartilage and other tissue can cause increase in joints, and cartilage that rude permukaanya will cause the onset of sound rattling when the joint is moved. On some joints, ligaments (which surround and support the joints) can be stretched so that joints became unstable. Touching or moving the joints can cause great pain.
Osteoarthritis which occurs at the joints in the neck or back may cause symptoms of numbness, tingling, pain and weakness in the arms or legs, if excessive bone growth pressuring neighboring innervation.
